Charnwood AC is a great local grass roots athletics club in the Loughborough area committed to providing opportunities for all athletes of all abilities and ages. Based at the prestigious Loughborough University Paula Radcliffe Stadium, Charnwood AC provides opportunities for athletes of all ages to take part in training and competition for Track, Field, Cross-Country and Road Running events.

Charnwood AC hire the Loughborough University Athletics track on a Monday and a Wednesday between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. In addition, during the winter months (November to March) the club hires indoor training facilities at the High Performance Athletics Centre (HIPAC) next to the University track.

They have several opens yearly for track and field with a complete range of track and field events with full cards at every competition, and the very best officials using the latest technology.

An ideal opportunity for Russel to have another run out at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium, to keep ticking over, and enjoy the experience participating in the local club scene at one of its opens.

Conditions were good on the day with 22C and a mixed sunny and cloudy day and fortunately no rain! The 200m race was a mix of juniors both U17 and U 20 with a couple of seniors, Russel among them.

Russel took first place (21.32) with the juniors performing well with Ethan Hall (Halesowen ACC U20) second and Oliver Hume (Derby AC U17) taking third.
